with 3M™ Scotchbond™ Universal Plus Adhesive and 3M™ Filtek™ Supreme Flowable Restorative.
A male patient in his mid-40s showing severe signs of erosive wear. Full-mouth rehabilitation was indicated to stop lesions progression and get the original vertical dimension back. Orthodontic therapy was planned as first step for better alignment before the restorative execution.
The main challenge lies in restoring function and VDO in a severely eroded dentition while balancing adhesion, occlusion, and longevity using a minimally invasive and economical approach.
Pre-op situation after aligners therapy. Multiple erosive lesions are visible.
Old composite removal and enamel conditioning with 29 μm alumina.
Enamel etching for 15 seconds on teeth to be restored in the first round.
Application of 3M™ Scotchbond™ Universal Plus Adhesive after protecting non-injected teeth with PTFE tape.
First silicone matrix in place, ready to inject teeth 14, 12, 21, and 23.
Injection of 3M™ Filtek™ Supreme Flowable Restorative B1 shade.
First four teeth restored after excess removal.
Situation after the second-round injection following the same procedure.
Etching enamel and adhesive application on lower arch teeth.
Same procedure of injection molding on lower arch.
3M™ Filtek™ Supreme Flowable Restorative injected. Excess removal outside the matrix is recommended before light-curing.
Immediate post-op situation after finishing and polishing, including posterior teeth.
Composite injection molding is established as long-term interim treatment and offers significant advantages, but success depends on precise planning, etiological control, and meticulous execution.
3M™ Filtek™ Supreme Flowable Restorative has appropriate optical properties for life-like results, offers excellent polishability, and wear resistance.
