Zirconia Today: Indications, Limits & Clinical Protocols
June 2, 2026 english language
Aims and Objectives
Zirconia has become one of the most widely used restorative materials in modern prosthetic dentistry thanks to its high mechanical strength, biocompatibility, and improved esthetic properties. However, despite its popularity, zirconia presents specific clinical challenges, particularly regarding material selection, preparation design, and cementation protocols. A comprehensive understanding of zirconia’s indications, limitations, and bonding strategies is essential to achieve predictable and long-term clinical outcomes. This lecture aims to provide clinicians with a practical overview of zirconia restorations, focusing on correct case selection, surface treatment, and reliable cementation procedures.
Learning Outcomes
In this webinar, we will analyze the clinical applications of zirconia restorations and the most relevant factors influencing their long-term success. Special attention will be given to material selection, preparation guidelines, surface treatment, and cementation protocols. Common clinical mistakes and complications will also be discussed to help clinicians improve predictability and minimize failures in zirconia-based restorations.
