/ Clinical Cases / Bonding of a glass-ceramic overlay
April 13, 2026
Using 3M™ RelyX™ Universal Resin Cement and 3M™ Scotchbond™ Universal Plus Adhesive.
The 59-year male patient presented with a gold-alloy overlay on tooth 17. Even so the restoration was asymptomatic the patient had the strong wish to replace it with a ceramic restoration for esthetic reasons.
The gold-alloy overlay was removed, underlying tooth structure was cleaned and a minimal invasive preparation for a bonded restoration was prepared. A lithium disilicate restoration was fabricated and bonded with 3M™ RelyX™ Universal Resin Cement and 3M™ Scotchbond™ Universal Plus Adhesive under total isolation. The patient is very satisfied with the esthetic and functional result.
